The Texas region held its second monthly check-in on February 28, 2024. In attendance was @bhart @bhartman007 @cfoandrew @thelonestarveteran and a special guest from Canada, @smitty-eng

During the meeting, guides from the Gulf Coast, Hill Country, and North Texas subregions gave a breakdown of their February achievements, which included ruck events and the collective results of the SKOM, skill of the month, for Texas which was Sharpshooter.

The region also scheduled two upcoming events for Texas: Texas StrenFest III, to be held tentatively in mid-October in Brazoria County on the Gulf coast, and the first TSL Texas 30-Miler/50-Miler on November 2 at Texas Motor Speedway during the Alliance Airshow.

Subregional events for March were also shared, which include Hill Country’s Bataan March Memorial ruck, North Texas’ Dead Poet’s Society recital, and Hiking Preparation Strenuous Saturday, among others.

The group then discussed “ministry" outreach for existing Texas members that have been quiet for a while, followed by “mission" recruiting for some of Texas’ lesser populated subregions like Panhandle, Big Bend, etc.

Finally, the region set its March SKOM, which is Backyard Farmer.

In addition to the activities completed and planned, the Texas region performed some minor enhancements to its communications network, which includes a regional website and supporting social media channels used to share the happenings in Texas with members and potential new TSLers.
