About the event
Teddy Roosevelt was famous for reading two to three books a day. He would read a book before breakfast every day and, depending on his schedule, another two or three in the evening (he was a speed reader extraordinaire). By his own estimates, he read tens of thousands of books over the course of his lifetime. For the contest, the goal is to read three books a month, or 36 for the year. Here are the rules:
The contest begins at midnight on January 1 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on December 31 in your time zone.
The average page count must be 250 pages or 75,000 words.
Of the 36 books:
Only six may be from a book you have read before.
You must read at least one but no more than six from each of the following genres—(1)fantasy fiction, (2)science fiction, (3)horror fiction, (4)historical fiction, (5)mystery/thriller/crime fiction, (6)fiction short…
